This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 coupe is a non-running project that is said to have been stored for the last 12 years and was acquired by the seller in 2021. The car is finished in yellow over tan leather upholstery and equipped with a louvered hood, four-wheel disc brakes, and polished 15” knock-off wire wheels. Two 4.2-liter inline-six engines accompany the vehicle, along with a removed automatic transmission and other spare parts. This Series II coupe is being offered at no reserve with a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The front passenger’s side marker lens is missing and the windshield and driver-side rear taillight lens are cracked. A crack in the paintwork can be seen, along with various scratches and imperfections around the body. The seller notes that the hood is not currently bolted in place.
Polished 15” wire wheels feature knock-off spinners and are mounted with older Silver Bear whitewall tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rears. Three spare wire wheels and one tire are included in the sale.
The 2+2 cabin features seats that have reportedly been reupholstered in tan leather along with matching door panels and a black dashboard. The carpeting has been removed, the dash trim is peeling and torn, and the headliner and sun visors are stained. A radio and speaker enclosure is included in the sale, along with an uninstalled air conditioning unit and mounting brackets.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 71k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
Two 4.2-liter inline-six engines that are said to turn freely accompany the vehicle, along with two SU carburetors, an automatic transmission, headers, a stainless-steel exhaust and associated components.
Areas of corrosion on the underside are noted by the seller.
