The Autoworld Autumn Sale, Brussels
Engine no. RA 6081-9 •Sold new in the USA
•Single ownership from 1990 to 2016
•Only 26,313 miles (approximately 42,300 kilometres) from new
•Restored condition
This highly desirable 'Series 1' E-Type coupé was delivered new to Jaguar Cars, New York, USA and has covered only 26,313 miles (approximately 42,300 kilometres) from new. Sold new to Mr Masko Laninick, it is one of the last of 5,872 left-hand drive Series 1 coupés built. The accompanying Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirms matching numbers and records the original colour combination as Opalescent Silver Grey with red interior. From 1990 onwards the E-Type remained with one owner in Kansas until 2016 when it was sold by Gullwing Motor Cars, New York to a prominent Belgian private collector. In 2018 the car changed hands again, passing to the current vendor, another prominent Belgian collector.
The vendor advises us that this car has been restored to a very good standard, which is confirmed by the evaluation carried out by the respected Belgian Classic Car expert Mr Gert Beets. Mr Beets concludes: "This car has been restored to a very good level. It is an original left-hand drive E-type Series I Fixed Head Coupe in quite original mechanical configuration." The car also has a FIVA passport (issued 27th December 2019) categorising it as 'A/3' (A = original; 3 = restored).
Finished in red with tan leather interior, the E-Type is said to drive extremely well and is described by the vendor as ready to be enjoyed. Accompanying additional documentation includes a manufacturer's brochure, sundry maintenance invoices, Belgian registration papers, and the aforementioned Heritage Certificate.
