history This early fixed head has spent all of its life in California USA and was imported into the UK in 2002.
The body is exceptional retaining its original panels apart from the rear underpan.
The car has been converted to right hand drive with full UK specification and will shortly have been restored to near concours condition with full mechanical overhaul, baremetal repaint and full interior retrim.
PRICE
£29,750 Sterling in standard specification. Upgrades including an all synchromesh gearbox can be accommodated at extra cost.

The Jaguar Legend, Coys (2005-06-18 15:00:00)
This 1962-built and therefore very early E Type 3.8 coupe, which is claimed to have all original numbers still matching, was exported and became a Californian-driven left-hooker before being re-imported into the UK in 2002, since when the two-door fixed head has been fully restored during the current ownership. Stripped back to bare metal, the body panels have been repainted to the original colour of light Opalescent Silver Blue, while the interior trim in dark Navy Blue was also renewed at the same time. The vendor advises us that the 3.8-litre XK engine, the four-speed gearbox as well as the independent suspension were rebuilt in the US prior to the car being shipped home. The history file contains a photographic record of the rebuild, a Jaguar Heritage Certificate which confirms the 1962 date and Jaguar Cars manufacturing details, the import documentation from the US to the UK, a V5 confirming the current registration 350 UXB, a newly issued MOT certificate valid until May of next year and a historic vehicle eligible tax disc which will be current until April 2006.
