This beauty is my pride and joy. I purchased my 1963 Jaguar XKE Series 1 Coupe from a long-time friend of the family who had stored the car for over 26 years in a California garage. I agree with Enzo Ferrari when he said the E-Type is the most beautiful car in the world. In order to bring this amazing car back to life, I contracted for a complete ground-up, full nut and bolt restoration which took over 3 years and an investment of over $300,000. Since the original engine was replaced earlier with a 4.2-litre motor from a 1964 E-Type, I decided that my car would be a Driver rather than a pure Trailer Queen. No expense was spared in order to fulfill this objective. I upgraded the standard 4-speed transmission with a full-synch 5 speed, added air-conditioning, a modern radio, updated the ignition system with all electronic parts, and thoroughly rebuilt the engine. The car is painted British Racing Green with a Biscuit leather interior. Needless to say, this car is in concourse condition. Restoration progress was recorded at ragtops.com/gallery/main.php_itemId=3360

The car is located in Las Vegas, NV. All documentation is available as well additional pictures.

The "Holy grail" of the marque, this 1963 Jaguar FHC was restored to better-than-new condition at world famous "Ragtops and Roadsters" in Perkasie PA at a cost of $300,000 (receipts included with sale). It has been driven 500 miles since completion and stored in an air-conditioned museum setting. Upgrades have been applied to enhance drivability and reliability. A 4.2 liter remanufactured engine, 5-speed Tremec synchromesh overdrive transmission, electronic ignition (no need for a spare Jaguar to keep at the shop) and air-conditioning were added as well as custom burled-walnut console and instrument panel overlay. A custom glove compartment door is fitted in matching walnut. The seats were moved back and down to accommodate American drivers (I am 6' 2" and fit fine.) Build book documents entire remanufacturing process. Custom cover included with sale. This is a "no expense spared" automobile and has won awards in every show it has entered. If you are going to purchase a classic automobile, it is best to buy from an obsessive-compulsive perfectionist. I am such an individual. I can't tolerate imperfection and this car reflects my standards.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
