Lot 249: 1962 Jaguar E-Type Series I
Sports Car Auction, Coys (22nd July 2006)
The example you see here today, chassis 885743 was sold new to the USA before returning to Europe. It has been in the hands of its current owner a well known gentleman racing driver for the past 15 years. In his ownership the car has received various work including a bare metal respray, an interior retrim, the fitting of an improved synchromesh gearbox and larger brakes from the 4.2 E-Type. The car has benefited from being used on a regular basis and is presented today in excellent running order. Complete with its Italian registration this beautiful E-Type is ready to grace the roads of southern Europe.
