Ebay item 4/15/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1964-3-8-Litre-Open-Two-Seater-E-Type_W0QQ ...
Current bid $6,766 reserve not met, 3 bids, 6 days left in auction. 11k miles listed, could be 111k miles.

Sellers description:
Here is a chance to own a true E-type. This is a true Series I that started the legend. This is a matching number car the numbers are as follows: car number 881630, body number R8545, engine number RA7011-9, gear box number EB14941JS. The date on the block reads as follows 25/3/64, which would mean it was made on March 25th, 1964. Although some of the later 3.8 E-types had synchro gear boxes this one does not. It has the Moss gear box. This car will run and drive anywhere right now. It starts right up. After it is warmed up the oil pressure runs between 35 and 40 p.s.i. A new clutch was put in about a year ago. The brakes all around are in good shape. All the mechanicals i.e. lights, indicator, horn etc. work. Last year the car received a tune up and had a new generator installed. At present there are no pressing needs. The bonnet lines up nicely. The paint on the car from a 1 to 10 is a 5. There are some chips in the paint. The seats were reupholstered about 2 years ago as well as a new rag top was installed. The car is missing the original tool kit and the original jack.

As far as the body goes the floor pans and where the bonnet hinges are in excellent condition. The drivers side lower sill is going to need some attention as some rust is bubbling through.

The interior dash is nice condition except for the top which has a couple of cracks. The seats, the door panels and center console are in nice condition.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
