    Opening bid $20,000.00 (Reserve not met), no bids yet, 9 days left in auction. Buy it now price $88,000.

    Sellers description:
    Offered at auction for your consideration is a nearly perfect example of one of the most legendary automobiles ever built. It is a 1964 Jaguar 3.8 E-Type OTS Roadster in the ideal colors of bright red with a black leather interior. The complete, frame up restoration was performed on an original low miles, rust free car with no accident history. The quality of this restoration is attested to by the long list of awards this car has received. At Jaguar Club of North America events this car has been judged 19 times. Career high points include:

    * JCNA Class 5, Northwest Champion 4 years straight 1996-1999
    * Placed 3rd Nationally, JCNA Class 5, 1996
    * Most Recent JCNA Score 99.93 Portland OR, 2002
    * Best E-Type, JCNA Western States Meet, Victoria BC, 1998
    * Best Jaguar In Show, JCNA Meet, Portland OR, 1999
    * Placed 4th Nationally, JCNA Class 5, 1999
    * Numerous All British Field Meet Peoples Choice Awards

    The lowest scores this car has ever achieved were in 1996, when it still managed to achieve Northwest Champion and place 3rd nationally with a season average of 99.28. Its scores have steadily improved ever since, demonstrating its careful stewardship and steady improvement. Its most recent outing to the Portland JCNA meet in 2002 netted it best score ever of 99.93.

    BODY & EXTERIOR - This car is virtually flawless in its original color of red. Paint work is smooth and free of dings or chips. Chrome is beautiful with no signs of age or wear. Seals are soft, pliable and professionally applied. Glass is free of scratches and damage. Tires are Dunlop SP Sport in perfect condition. I see no flaws to report.

    MECHANICALS - Mechanicals were thoroughly attended to during restoration. This car starts, runs, drives and stops just as it should. This car has been serviced as needed and maintained with preventative maintenance as a priority. The engine compartment is beautifully finished and fully detailed.

    The undercarriage is very clean as one would expect with a car capable of this type of concours score. This car has been regularly driven in an effort to avoid problems associated with lack of use, but, only in dry weather conditions.

    SUMMATION - This car has everything going for it. It is an excellent color combination. It has no collision history and it has always been rust free. Numbers match and mileage is original and very low at 41754. It received a no expense spared, frame up restoration to very high standards using the best materials available. All of this is supported by its documented and illustrious JCNA competition history. Because of this, you can be guaranteed of this cars quality and correctness. You do not have to take my word for it as the competition history speaks for itself.

    As if all of that is not enough, the Jaguar E-Type market is on fire. Keith Martin of Sports Car Market is recently quoted as stating perfect E-types are now in the $120,000 range. 99.93 is not perfect but it is damn close.

    The Numbers:
    * Car - 881424
    * Body - R8326
    * Engine - RA6542-9
    * Gear Box - EB14672JS

    Model E-Type Series 1 3.8 Roadster

    There have been few better summaries of the E-Type's manifest virtues than the forgoing, penned by the inimitable John Bolster for Autosport shortly after the car's debut. Conceived and developed as an open sports car, the Jaguar E-Type debuted at the Geneva Salon in March 1961 in Coupé form. The car caused a sensation - spontaneous applause breaking out at the unveiling - with its instantly classic lines and a 150mph top speed. The newcomer's design owed much to that of the Le Mans-winning D-Type sports-racer, a monocoque tub forming the main structure while a tubular spaceframe extended forwards to support the engine. The latter was the 3.8-litre, triple-carburettor, 'S' unit first offered as an option on the preceding XK150. Its engine aside, only in terms of its transmission did the E-Type represent no significant advance over the XK150, whose durable four-speed Moss gearbox it retained.
