1964 Jaguar E type Series 1 3.8/4.2 roadster.
Make: Jaguar
Model: E type Series 1 Roadster
Year: 1964
Price: £150,000 (approx €188,520 euros)
Chassis number: 881150
Registration number: To be announced once UK registered.
On its way to us now arriving first week January.
This is to all intensive purposes a brand new E type having undergone a total nut & bolt rebuild & had numerous modern upgrades to make as fine a driving car as possible whilst keeping the appearance of a stock original car.
Upgrades include: 5 speed modern gear box mounted inside an original appearing casting to look like a factory item. 4.2 Litre engine with Bosch electronic ignition for enhanced performance over the original 3.8 unit. Alloy series 1 4.2 radiator. Alloy flywheel & 9.5" diaphragm clutch. New car specific alloy calipers with vented front discs. Adjustable top fulcrum arm for easy camber & castor adjustment. Adjustable reaction plate to adjust the front ride height. The steering rack is a new quick ratio unit and is solid mounted. New Radial tyres are fitted all round to new chrome knock off wire wheels.
The car is finished in its original colour of cream with red leather interior as shipped in LHD format to Jaguar cars New York. Red carpets complete the ensemble. A black hard top is fitted to augment the black soft top. The car has seat belts fitted & a modern sound system.
This car has been built without regard to cost with the intent of upgrading the original to a more modern driving experience. It Starts stops, goes & handles far better then the original & is a real pleasure to drive whilst exuding all the period glamour of an early E Type.
Comment: seems a bit odd calling it a 3.8/4.2. Did it originally have a 3.8 engine?

Chassis number is for a 3.8 but the engine is from a 4.2 Mark 10 or 420G car with e-type manifold and carbs.
Interior seats and console are as a 4.2 S1.
A lot of money for such an amalgamation....

a non numbers matching 64, I guess you could call it a modified 64.
My March 64 3.8 which has the same console, and armrests but the original seats and about 100 numbers later. Some 3,8 cars had the later console.
