Car to be at Coy's auction 5/10
www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php

Auction description:
1964 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Litre Roadster
Lot 157
Registration Number: XFX 247B Chassis Number: 881017

Manufactured on the 31st January 1964, this original left hand drive E-Type was originally delivered to US Jaguar dealer Woodroffe on February 21st 1964. The car resided in the dry and moisture-free climate of Texas for much of its life and in 1989 it was imported to the UK. Upon reaching these shores the car underwent a full restoration and is described by the vendor as being in excellent condition all round.

The car has had significant yet subtle modifications including a Borg Warner 5 speed gearbox to improve long distance touring, 4 pot callipers have grooved, crossed drilled and vented discs all round, electronic ignition, Kenlowe fan, lightened fly wheel, big bore stainless steel exhaust and brass header tank. All upgrades compliment the car and in no way take away the character of the E-Type.

A V5 document, MoT certificate valid until August, Texas certificate of title and photographs and bills of the restoration are included in the history file. Finished in its original specification of Opalesent Golden Sand, this matching numbers, genuine left hand drive E-Type is truly a fine example of the marque and would grace any serious classic car collection.

Estimate: £48000 - £60000

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
