Car is back on eBay.
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232476502712
Location: Coventry. Priced as a fully restored car. £250,000 using the 2016 pictures.

A recent arrival from the USA, this Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Roadster was, according to the Heritage Certificate, despatched to Jaguar Cars, New York on 1st October 1963 in the colour combination of Primrose Yellow with Black trim and Black hood. It has matching numbers and shows an odometer reading of just over 22000 miles which while possibly correct cannot be confirmed.

This appears to be a largely unmolested LHD car and it even retains its original body tag. It runs and drives (but only round the yard) and appears to be free of any major corrosion.

It is our intention to restore it when time allows and the price is for the finished car. However our workshops are very busy at the moment so work is unlikely to start anytime soon so it is still possible to have it rebuilt to your personal specifications.

This will be a beautiful example when finished and is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the fastest appreciating E-Type models.

In 2016, Seller's description was (on 2016 Ebay listing) :

FOR RESTORATION..... THIS ALMOST NUMBERS MATCHING CALIFORNIA NUMBERED JAGUAR E RUNS & YARD DRIVES. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN UPGRADED TO A FULL SYNCRO-MESH GEARBOX THUS NOT 100% MATCHING NUMBERS CAR. THE FRONT CALIPERS HAVE BEEN RE-SLEEVED IN STAINLESS & THE MASTER CYLINDERS HAVE BEEN OVERHAULED. THE REAR BRAKES WILL NEED ATTENTION. THERE ARE AREAS AROUND THE CAR THAT ARE DINGED AND THE PAINT IT COMING AWAY BUT THE BODY & THE UNDER CARRIAGE ARE SOUND

THIS JAGUAR IS A 1964 XK-E OPEN TWO SEAT ROADSTER (OTS) & WAS ORIGINALLY REGISTERED IN CALIFORNIA AS CAN BE NOTED BY THE ADDITIONAL PREFIX ON THE CHASSIS NUMBER.......... IT RUNS & YARD DRIVES BUT WILL NEED A SYMPATHETIC RESTORATION AT BEST.
IT IS A 75% MATCHING NUMBERS CAR... THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN UP GRADED TO A FULL SYNCRO-MESH GEARBOX SO THIS IS THE ONLY NON MATCHING ITEM.
THE ORIGINAL GEARBOX IS NOT AVAILABLE

THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN STORAGE FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS..... THE BODY AND PAINT ARE A # 3 ...THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND SHEET-METAL ARE SOUND WITH NO ROT OR HEAVY RUSTING, WHICH SHOULD MAKE THIS AN EASY SEMI -RESTORATION. THE MECHANICAL'S ARE ALL THERE AND MOST SEEM TO WORK. THE ENGINE IS A 3.8 LITER AND IT RUNS FAIRLY WELL WITH NO SMOKING OR NOISES & THE 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION SHIFTS WELL. THE FRONT CALIPERS HAVE BEEN RE-SLEEVED IN STAINLESS, NEW BRAKE PADS & BRAKE HOSES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AND THE DUAL MASTER CYLINDERS REBUILT....... SO THERE ARE BRAKES....... HOWEVER , THE REAR BRAKES WILL NEED TO BE RE-SLEEVED & A BRAKE BELLOWS WILL NEED TO BE ADDED TO COMPLETE THE BRAKE WORK. A NEW CLUTCH SLAVE HAS BEEN INSTALLED TO MAKE THIS A CAR THAT CAN BE YARD DRIVEN

IT HAS BEEN WITH THE SAME FAMILY FOR 20 YEARS.... A NEW MOHAIR TOP WAS INSTALLED DURING THIS TIME & STILL LOOKS GOOD TODAY.

THERE ARE A FEW PARTS NOT ON THE CAR BUT WILL BE SUPPLIED WITH THE CAR BUT WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU WILL GET.
AS MENTIONED IT WILL NEED A BRAKE BELLOWS AND ADDITIONAL BRAKE WORK TO BE ABLE TO BE USED AS IS.
THE SEATS AND DASH ARE IN # 2 CONDITION AND WITH A LITTLE CLEAN UP COULD BE USED AS IS.

THIS JAGUAR IS SOLID BUT WILL NEED WORK
THIS IS NOT A CAR THAT YOU CAN BUY AND DRIVE BUT WITH SOME ATTENTION TO THE ABOVE MENTIONED ITEMS IT COULD BE MADE TO BE A SURVIVOR CAR WITHOUT GOING THE FULL RESTORATION ROUTE.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
