This 1964 Jaguar XKE Series I 3.8 roadster was refurbished in 2020 and is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in Carmen Red over black leather, the car is equipped with a black convertible top, a body-color hard top, enclosed headlights, 15″ wire-spoke wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, and a heater. The owner purchased the car in 2000 and it is now offered on their behalf with service records and an Illinois title.
The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. This example was refinished in Carmen Red in 2018 and features a body-color hard top and a black convertible top with a color-coordinated top boot. Additional exterior details include a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a driver-side mirror, triple windshield wipers, and dual exhaust outlets with a Union Jack badge affixed to the mounting bracket.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and were mounted with 185-section Vredestein Sprint Classic tires in April 2026. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a wood shift knob featuring a Jaguar crest, a sliding rearview mirror, and a heater. The steering column bushings and indicator switch were replaced in April 2026.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 4,700 miles, approximately 3,500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale, and an Interstate battery and battery hold-down were also installed in April 2026.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
