Car to be at auction 11/09
www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php

Auction description:
Lot 440
Registration Number: VVS 368
Chassis Number: 877562
Manufactured on the 21st June 1962, this 3.8 litre Roadster has benefitted from a full nut and bolt restoration carried out between 1990 and 1993 to the beautiful state you see today. All aspects of the car were covered including an engine rebuild with a re-ground crank shaft, skimmed head and new valves. The gearbox was overhauled and all bushes and bearings replaced throughout the car. The car was taken back to bare metal and finished in blue with a contrasting black leather interior. A photographic restoration is supplied with the car along with 11 old MoT certificates, a V5 document, Heritage certificate and a current MoT valid until June 2010 and a current road tax certificate. Purchased by the vendor in 1990 the car has covered 791 miles since the restoration and has been well maintained throughout his ownership. This E-Type is without doubt a car for the true connoisseur of Britain’s most famous and revered marque.

Estimate: £40000 - £50000

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
