Ebay item 12/30/24www.ebay.com/itm/186864292490
Opening bid $75,000, no bids, 6 days left in auction, seller British Car Parts Company, 47k miles, no reserve
Seller's description:
This 1962 Jaguar E-Type roadster in the condition it is today was placed into dry covered storage in January 2012. I believe it was stored under a carport previously for many years. A previous owner began to repaint the car by removing the lamps and bumpers and removed a lot of the paint. The bumpers, head lamps with glass and chrome parts, headlamp scoops, side lamps and other parts go with the car. The brake calipers were removed in the past and also go with the car. According to the Jaguar Heritage Certificate the car was originally Jaguar red. The floors need to be replaced and there is rust here and there. Mechanical condition is unknown. The engine, spaceframe and body numbers match the Jaguar Heritage Certificate. The car rolls for transport. Clean Texas title.

This 1962 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster is a non-running project that was manufactured on June 13, 1962, and was purchased new by a person who lived in Arlington, Texas. The seller acquired the car in 2012 and has stored it indoors but has not performed any work on the vehicle nor attempted to start it. Equipment includes a 3.8-liter inline-six, a four-speed manual transmission, 15″ wire wheels, Series II cam covers, and a Blaupunkt radio. This Series I XKE is now offered at no reserve with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, spare and removed parts, and a bonded Texas title in the seller’s name. The total sale amount—including the BaT buyer’s fee—will be donated to Twilight Tails, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Fulshear, Texas, that rescues or finds homes for displaced senior dogs.
Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. Finished from the factory in Carmen Red, this example was repainted in yellow under prior ownership. The seller notes rust around the car, particularly at the floors. The tan soft top requires replacement. Parts including the lamps, the glass headlight covers, trim, and the front bumper have been removed. A rear bumper is not included in the sale.
Wire-spoke 15″ wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with aged Michelin red-line tires. The Dunlop brake calipers have been removed and are among the accompanying parts cache.
The cabin features tan-upholstered bucket seats. A Blaupunkt radio is positioned ahead of the shifter. The footwell on the driver side is rusted through.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 48k miles, and the seller does not know when the car was driven most recently.
The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Cam covers from a Series II XKE have been installed. The seller has not attempted to start the car, and its mechanical condition is unknown.
The engine stamping reads R6077-9, and an image of the same sequence on the cylinder head is provided in the gallery.
The four-speed manual transmission is linked to a limited-slip differential.
Headlight covers are among the accompanying spare parts.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates. The seller notes that there is not a chassis data plate in the engine compartment; identifying markings are visible.
The Texas title was issued to the seller in 2012 and notes “Bonded Title” under the Remarks section.
Upon completion of the auction, the winning bidder will pay the seller, who will donate the full sale amount to Twilight Tails, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
