Ebay item 9/11/05
Current bid $10,100, no reserve, 10 bids, 5 days left in auction.
Matching number 1963 jaguar xke 3.8 Litre roadster. All of the very desirable and sought after Jags were the early series 1 jaguars which included the aluminum dash & the 3.8 litre, which had more horsepower than the later series 1. I have owned this cat less than 1 year, and I have too many projects underway to give this vehicle the attention it deserves. This car came from the Baltimore Maryland area. It came out of storage after years of being tucked away. I believe this car had spent most of its life on the East coast. This is a rare, beautiful machine, and ready for someone else to enjoy.
Vehicle ID numbers :
* Car #877429
* Body # R 4016
* Engine # R4016
* Gearbox # EB1810JSO
* Mileage: Shows 0001; So mileage is unknown.
* Engine: Sounds good. New plugs installed. It could use a tune up.
* Starter: Sometimes, the engine cranks over slow. The starter motor may need replaced in near future.
* Radiator: Newer aluminum radiator.
* Transmission: Shifts 'ok' & no problems known.
* Brakes: Rebuilt front calipers; Rear calipers need attention; Brakes are a little soft.
* Body: No surface rust on paint; Blue Metallic & Nice shine. There is a small 50 cent piece size rust hole in lower trunk area.
*Floor boards (front & rear) are in nice shape and it appears that there is no rust on them. Rocker panels are in nice shape too and appear solid. Where the trailing arms connect to the rear floor boards looks sound on both sides.
*I am not aware of any accidents. I see no signs of this.
*good Ohio title for this car.
*There is no visible rust on the outside of this car. I am not aware of any bondo in this car. I've owned it less than one year.
* Floors: Look good & appear solid.
* Interior: Black. Seats are recovered NEW vinyl. Newer carpet on floors. In my opinion, car needs interior work.
* Gauges/ switches/ turn switches: Some work and some do not. This car had been in storage for years, and I never bothered to get all switches to work. Please do not ask me which ones work since I do not have time for maintence.
* Chrome: Bumpers & turn signal chrome are very presentable. Wire wheel chrome needs attention.
* Spare tire: Yes, included.
* Tires: Needs new tires.
* Jack is included. No hammer. No tools. No manuals.
* Missing parts: A few small chrome pieces. Also passenger side door internal guts missing to open door & crank window up & down.
* Top: Needs one since the original one is missing.
As part of the restoration, this car needs: new rubber trim for exterior, a new interior, new tires, new wires, and a top. This is a fun car but it needs some attention.
* Bonnet & doors seal fine, but need rubber trim.

Car Condition: Show/Driver
Classic Showcase restored this beautiful E-type to a Show/Driver level. With only 850 miles driven since the restoration, this E type is ready for showing and driving.
No expense was spared in this correct and proper restoration. The craftsmanship is superb as well as the fit and finish.
Included in the restoration process the vehicle was evaluated, inspected, and photographed. Then disassembled, stripped to bare metal, placed on a rotisserie, metal finished, leaded, all body parts fitted to the car as well as the chrome, prepared for primer, sealer, paint, base and clear coat, color sanded and buffed to a fabulous finish. This E-type is in a very rich color combination of Black & Tan. All systems have been gone through and the engine was rebuilt back to factory specifications. The transmission was upgraded to a 5 speed Manual for better handling and performance. All other systems such as the electrical system, hydraulic system, cooling system and fuel system were restored or replaced and the car received all new wire harness, new rubber, and grommets. Also installed were new valves, guides, seals, timing chain, head completely rebuilt, restoring and rebuilding the carburetors, new clutch system, machining the fly wheel, all new hydraulic system, new u joints installed and balancing the drive shaft, new shocks front and rear, rebuilt fuel pump. The car received a new correct exhaust system, new battery, the gas tank was hot tanked, painted, and epoxy sealed. All of the brite work was re-plated as well. The car received a complete custom tailored and fit interior with all the proper materials, by our upholstery department. Brand new leather seats, padding, carpet & panels were installed as well as a new dash. There is a custom Alpine AM/FM CD player in the dash w/ an IPod jack. The speakers are made by Focal America and the speaker boxes are specially built.
A DVD of the restoration process accompanies the vehicle. This is a spectacular color combo, a wonderful car that is for the discerning Jaguar collector.
