For sale at Pendine Historic Cars of Bicester. The Jaguar Heritage Certificate shows chassis 876118 was dispatched from Brown's Lane on 15 December 1961. A flat floor roadster, it was a Personal Export Delivery for Pedro Manuel de Aristegui, the Spanish Ambassador to Venezuela. It was registered 364WK in the UK, but it was built as a left hand drive for its future diplomatic travels.

Aristegui bought the car for his young bride, who soon got a reputation for driving the car at high speed through the streets of Caracas. Christina Aristegui even ended up in jail as a result of her excessive pace, but only for four hours! Pedro Manuel de Aristegui was killed in a bomb attack in Lebanon in 1989 and it is understood that the E Type stayed with the family until it returned to the UK in the early 1990's.

The subject of a complete, back to bare metal restoration by J C Restorations in Ireland, this E Type today has covered very few miles since then. Finished in Old English White with Burgundy leather interior, it is a matching numbers example of a rare flat floor 3.8 roadster.

Is it really the same car?

It reads that the car was a restored and to RHD converted car in white/red back in April 2016 and only 1 1/2 years later turns up as BRG / beige returned to LHD?

Really? I am not saying that this cannot be the case, but feels like being strange...

You must be right, Stephan.

Stories of white car and BRG car are different :
The white one is told to have spent most of time in Vénézuela.
The BRG car is told to have stayed in Italy from 1961 to 2017...

Pyritz description is :

So, two different cars claiming the same number... or maybe a mistake of a seller while registering the ad of one of these two cars.

Model E-Type Series 1 Flat Floor Roadster

One of very few 'Flat-Floor' roadsters made, this incredibly restored example was manufactured in November 1961 and delivered new to Mr. P M Aristegui. Its history is well known and the car spent the many years in Italy before being imported to Germany in 2017, and subsequently restored to its current impeccable condition. As you would expect the restoration has been well-documented and a vast history file complements the car. Also included in the history file are the cars are a number of original Italian documents as well as its old registration.

Still retaining its original moss gearbox and offered with a classic data condition report where it scores a remarkable 1- with a valuation of €275,000. Offered with but a fraction of this as its reserve, this beautiful and first iteration of the iconic E-type is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
