This 1961 Jaguar XKE is a Series I flat-floor roadster that is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six that is mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It is believed to have been registered in California for a period before it was relocated to Canada, having been purchased by the seller in 1981. The car has been fitted with a later-series hood with open headlights, and it also has a black soft top, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, and an AM/FM radio. Driven ~23k miles by the seller over the past 44 years, this XKE Series I roadster is now offered in Canada with manuals, service records, spare parts, and British Columbia registration listing the car as a 1962 model.

This Series I is a flat-floor example that features a continuous floorboard under each seat. The seller notes an accident damaged the right-front bumper, which has been replaced, and a later-series hood has been installed. The Signal Red paint has shade variance as well as touched-up spots, and bubbling is present on the hood. There are stress marks on the top.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with a mix of tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors, and the seller rebuilt the rear suspension. The seller describes the brake-pedal feel as soft.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather and textured aluminum dash trim. Parts of the carpeting have been replaced, and a Pioneer stereo is mounted ahead of the shifter and linked to speakers either side.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 65k miles but is not accurate per the seller, and they have driven the car approximately 24k miles.

The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

Handwritten ownership notes are included with the car along with a spare bellhousing.

The body number and engine number shown do not match the serial numbers on the plate.

The vehicle is being sold on its British Columbia registration, which serves as the ownership document in British Columbia, Canada.
