I just had a look at the pictures. (Owner of 875521)

The car looks also quite good - does it have any corrosion?
I need to check body and engine number again on my car. Because I though engine with my car would be 1640-9, which means that there must have been a row of engines in between - maybe Coupes in between.
But maybe I have mixed it up with the body no. which would make more sense 1640 to 1659 (yours)
Will have a look and come back to you.

Cheers

Hi Stefan
The car is very rustfree, sold new in California. The body number were probably mixed up at Browns Lane as the numbers in the boot and on the bonnet match but not with the number on the data plate. The "real" number is probably R1731. The original color scheme is Opalescent Dark Blue with light Blue interior, which the car will be restored to.

What about yours, is it being restored or what?

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
