I believe this car is now on ebay 1/28/04, however the VIN is listed as 375382
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
It is based in Miami, Florida and is said to be white with red interior. I'm trying to verify the VIN.
Sellers comment: 1961 E-TYPE #375382 white/red interior show level quality.comes with optional hard top, correct tools, jack, and books.Car also comes with two sets of tires white walls, and dunlops blk walls and painted wire wheels as per factory early cars.Every detail to factory specs, even the radiator hoses are old stock originals.Don't miss the opportunity to buy one of the best E-TYPE in the country."

Sold for $129,250 at RM Auction Monterey, CA in August, 2005

1961 Jaguar Series I E-Type Roadster

LOT 259

CHASSIS#: 875382

ESTIMATE: $ 125,000 -- $ 150,000

The example presented here is just fourth from the last OTS ever produced with the external bonnet locking mechanist. It is also equipped with (as were all “early” cars) a flat floor and welded louvers on the bonnet. This example was the subject of a comprehensive restoration by the thorough and accomplished Reggie Ray. It is beautifully finished in Old English white (a special order color for 1961) with a red interior and wide whitewall tires. Although seldom seen today, whitewalls were standard on U.S. delivery cars in 1961. Perhaps most impressively, it is also equipped with both a black soft top and hard top. The vendor

reports that the car runs quite well, is a fit driver and would be suitable for both touring and showing. It is rare to see such beautifully restored early E-Types in this configuration and with its interesting and unique optional accessories this is a standout amongst the many others we have had the pleasure of offering over the years.

While E-Types can be found in a wide range of colors, configurations and prices, the best of the very best are well worth an added premium as the cost of restoring these has also risen with the market. As such, we urge careful inspection of this stunning and significant example.
