This car now resides in Sydney Australia. The current owner bought it as a dismantled XKE in 1999 from a guy in Arizona. The car was very rusty and in need of a full restoration. I spoke to the current owner about four years ago when I was restoring my XKE FHC, he didn't know too much about the very early cars and how the panels were hand fitted before being spot welded into place.. I was quite amused by this guy when he told me he bought some panels for his car from Martin Robey, the company that makes all repro E-Type panels, but they didn't fit.. He didn't give Matin Robey a very good rating... The last I heard about the owner of this car was that he was ill and the restoration had been put on hold, that was about three years ago. I haven't seen the car at any Jaguar/E-Type days, so I guess it's still "work in progress"! Would like to see some pictures of the early E-Type you once owned!
