Car at auction 10/23

www.iconicauctioneers.com/1964-jaguar-e-type-3-8-fhc-rec12926-1-nec-1123

Auction description:

The NEC Classic Motor Show Sale 2023, Birmingham

1964 JAGUAR E TYPE 3.8 FHC

Registration Number 127 KNX

MOT Expiry Exempt

Chassis Number 861261

Engine Number TBA

Transmission Manual

Body Colour Carmen Red

Odometer Reading 74170 Miles

This Series 1, right-hand drive, 3.8 FHC was originally finished in Carmen Red with a black leather interior and is on offer from a Deceased Estate with single ownership that covers almost fifty years. Paperwork within the history file, dated 1980/81, lists a complete body and engine rebuild, a new bonnet assembly, new door skins, new floor pans, a suspension rebuild and much more and the mileage, at that point, was 67,625. It was obviously used lightly after that as the current indicated mileage is just over 74,000.

By 2010, however, it was obviously in need of a refresh and work was commenced but never completed. We understand that work included fresh paint, refinished chrome and works to the engine which is free and is in running order. The Jaguar is believed to have stood for a period of ten years since these works were carried out and it's evident that further recommissioning and future investment will be required, dependent on what level of finish is decided upon, offering real potential to its next custodian.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
