Lot 54 at South Western Vehicles Auction sale of classic cars on 29th October 2021. Sold for £48,000 plus buyer's premium. Amended catalogue description below.
    www.swva.co.uk/classic-car/jaguar-e-type-1962/

This 1962 S1 E Type Coupe is part of a private collection. The history files are substantial with four A4 size files of invoices, the old chassis plate, correspondence with the DVLA and an old green log book which shows Mr Robinson purchased the car in 1970 and Mr Lucas, who restored the car, purchased it in bits in 1981.

It was kept in store until 2015 when the car then underwent a complete nut and bolt restoration which included the interior, engine and bodywork, all brightwork polished and chrome re-chromed. The paintwork is usable but not to the standard of the rest of the car. It comes with many E Club magazines and useful articles and a history of the car from a 2017 Jaguar Club weekend.

What a wonderful opportunity to acquire a Series 1 E Type Coupe and because it has been off the road for most of its life the mileage of 46,830 miles could be correct.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
