Owner: Rex Marty

I developed a passion for E-Type Jaguars as a teenager and spent the early part of my career in the motor trade. To me the E-Type is the most beautiful car ever built.

Vehicle Description

For sale 1971 XKE Jaguar series 2, 4.2 coupe 4 speed. I am selling this Jaguar(not by choice) in order to do some improvements around the house. It is in great shape. There has been some body work done to the car.It is not a rot box. It will need paint in time, some of the original paint is checking like all the old English laquer does and it is lifting on the bonnett. This car is the coupe version not the 2+2. There were far less coupes made and has better roof lines. The chrome is very very nice. It is a 4 speed car with a header.I changed the Ignition to a new jaguar one, the old one was worn out. I also put in a new gear box out put seal. The air cond. pump was removed when the header was put on. The car runs and drives great.(no smoke) Titled ,registered, and inspected in Mass. It has 62,000 original miles. Original knock off wire wheels even the spare.Tires are like new with the little nubs, I think that they might have flat spots from sitting. Interior is original. If you are looking for a show car than this is not it.(nor is the price) My reserve is less than the recent coupe(equal in condition) recently got up to on ebay and its in the US not Canada. It recently stoped charging the battery probably will need a alternator. And the only other thing that it will need if you want to lock it up will be new tumblers for the doors, I did not get door keys when I bought it.It is a nice driver that gets a lot of attention everywhere. I would consider trades towards a backhoe, bulldozer,or excavator of equal or lesser value. These cars are getting harder to find in this condition. serious bids only, no test pilots/joy riders/or photo collectors need to apply. If you are looking for a nice driver that is priced right than this is it! I reserve the right to end the auction early as it is for sale locally

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
