Ebay item 10/5/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1971-Jaguar-E-Type-roadster_W0QQitemZ17026 ...
Current bid $15,101 reserve not met, 14 bids, 3 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1971 Jaguar E-Type Roadster.

I am selling this car for a friend of mine who is the second owner of this car. The car is in great shape. The car has been repainted in the early eighties, it originally was silver. The interior was partially redone and a/c added at this time also. Other than a little rust in the floor pans, the body is completly rust free.

All of the electricals (except a/c) are working at this time, although the speedometer and tach are not accurate.

The mufflers have been replaced, the rest should be.

The a/c is not connected. It looks like a Jaguar setup to me, but the owner said he had added the a/c shortly after he bought the car.

One fan is new, the other original and the radiator has been recored. It runs cool.

The door hinges should be replaced.

The floor pans have some small rust holes and are pretty beat up. There is no other rust through on cars.

Ther are some flaws under the paint on the nose of the car, I see no evidence of body damage. The paint job is not show condition.

There are a number of dings and chips on the car.

All in all this is a very nice car, I think it would be the perfect car for some one who wanted a car to drive for a couple of years with the intention of doing a complete restore. The car is very complete and original.

1971 Jaguar E-Type Roadster.

I am selling this car for a friend of mine who is the second owner of this car. He bought the car about 1980, the car has always been in arizona, according to the owner. The car is in great shape. The car has been repainted in the early eighties, it originally was silver. The interior was partially redone and a/c added at this time also. Other than a little rust in the floor pans, the body is completly rust free.

One fan is new, the other original and the radiator has been recored. It runs cool.

The wiring harness is original.

The floor pans have some small rust holes and are pretty beat up. There is no other rust through on cars.

Ther are some flaws under the paint on the nose of the car, I see no evidence of accident damage on the bonnet. The car was hit in the rear before the current owner purchased the car, minor accident. The paint job is not show condition.

There are a number of dings and chips on the car.

All in all this is a very nice car, I think it would be the perfect car for some one who wanted a car to drive for a couple of years with the intention of doing a complete restore. The car is very complete and original.

Car returns to ebay 1/21/15

Car has a buy it now price of $46,500 for 6 days. Previous auction was ended early by seller. This is a different seller. 92k miles reported.

Sellers description:
1971 Jaguar Roadster 4.2 inline 6, manual transmission

Mechanical:
this is a great hop in and go anywhere driver, cruise to car shows or to the store. or take it on the freeway!
Runs great, smooth, runs cool.
has a oil leak coming from what I believe to the the valve cover gaskets
the radiator has be Re-Cored
A new fan has been installed
The transmission shifts as it should
The clutch could use an adjustment, It lets out a little high
2nd gear synchro is starting to wear, It does not affect driving at all. minor at this point.
Has great oil pressure
Breaks are good
The A/c compressor is missing.

Paint/Body
The car has been re-sprayed in the 90's it was originally silver
it is great drivers quality, the body is straight no major dents but does have minor chips/flaws
there is some paint defect on the nose of the car, about 1'x1' does not appear to have been in a front end accident, the bonnet lines up nicely.
I Would not hesitate to enter it into a car show in its current state, It is a driver and you will not have to worry about the small things.

Interior/convertible top
Interior is nice for the most part
the seats have been re-covered in un-original material/color, and are showing age
the dash, gauges, etc look good
The carpet does not look original but is use-able
The top is in decent shape, folds up and unfolds good. flaws in the top and the rear window is cloudy
again Good driver quality!

Rust/Structure
This has been an Arizona car its whole life, Very dry!
Very minor rust the would only require small patches along the floor board seam on both sides
I could not find a spec of rust anywhere else
which is nice!
Looks like the floors have had someone improperly use them as a jack point so there are some bends but solid!
