43,755 MILES
ON EBAY 03/07
SELLER WRITES:
I am selling this beautiful 1973 Jaguar V12 E-Type XKE 2+2 for a friend here in Ft Myers, FL. He has owned and garaged the car for just under 20 years, has put just about 5,000 miles on the car and he has only allowed the car to see rain once since he has owned it. He bought the Jag from an English car enthusiast in Sebring, Florida. The car runs and drives really nice. The current owner has replaced the radiator and all hoses and starter. Rebuilt calipers in front with new brake lines and master cylinder. The back brakes have rebuilt calipers, lines are new and discs resurfaced. There is a new master cylinder for the clutch. All four carbs are rebuilt, the gas tank is new with new fuel pump (located inside gas tank), no dirt in the gas lines. New electronic ignition and the exhaust is new and chrome. Although all four tires are new, he has two of the redline tires available. The current owner is very proud of the condition of his Jag and has been diligent at keeping her in original working condition.
Now, the rubber gaskets around the windows and doors are cracked as you can see in the photos. There is a quarter sized area of missing paint by the gas cap. The car was repainted before the current owner bought the car and the missing paint area was there when he bought the car. The speedometer needle is stuck at 60mph because of a worn gear. When you go over 60mph the needle kicks in. This does not effect the odometer or the original miles on the car. The odometer works fine and is showing the accurate mileage on the car. There is a chrome piece on the drivers door that is off but the owner has that piece to be reapplied. Passenger rear tail light is cracked. Although the wipers work, the wiper wash does not. The glass mirror of the drivers side external rearview mirror is gone, it needs to be replaced.
When we drove the car to take the photos for this ad, the Jag fired up and purred like only a Jag can purr. One turn of the key and the smooth V-12 came to life. The new clutch sprung the Jag into action and it took off down the road. You really feel something special driving in a car like this with todays modern vehicles trying to keep up. Obviously you'll get more attention than you were looking for if you take this Jag home. It's a real head-turner. If you're a Jag enthusiast you won't be diasappointed with this one.
