Sellers comment:
1972 Jaguar XKE 2+2, Pale primrose with a black interior. I purchased this car thruogh eBay about 2 yeas ago from the widow of the original owner. They special ordered the car and picked it up from the factory in Coventry, England. It got it's 500 mile service in Paris, and they put another 3,000 miles on it touring europe before shipping it home. She said her husband had several Porches that he raced, but the Jag was his favorite, his street car. After his death, she sold all the others, but kept the XKE for 7 years for senimental reasons. When we arrived by plane to pick the car up, she called the broker to tell him we couldn't take the car that day, it looked like it could rain. she explained the car had NEVER been driven in the rain, her husband wouldn't take it out if it was even clowdy. (He had to explain to her that it was our car now, and he couldn't stop us from driving it away). Ths car has no rust that I have ever been able to find, under the carpets or the spare tire well look perfect. The wire wheels (5) are in very good condition. Although she had the car serviced annually, the 7 years in storage cost me a $1,000 tune up when we got it home, including all 4 carbs overhauled and all new ignition parts at a local Jaguar specialty garage. More recently, I sent the power rack and pinion to Terry's Jaguars for overhaul. Both radiator fans are new, and the relays and temperature sensor for the radiator and A/C have been replaced with Bosch and american pieces since the brand new Lucas parts lasted about two months befor they quit. The radiator is freshly overhauled, and I added a fan in front of the radiator also, but it wasn't needed, since rebuilding the radiator the car runs cool. The brake master cylinder is freshly overhauled. The interior is very nice, no tears in the seats or door panels. New headliner. The A/C blows very cold. Everything works, every once in a while, you need to tap the tachometer to get it to start and the clock runs a little fast. It has what I would guess to be the original AM/FM pushbutton radio, which plays fine, but the right rear speaker is fuzzy. This is a very fun car to drive, I will be sorry to see it go, but my wife says 22 cars are too many (I have to agree!).
Vehicle Condition
Nice car, Chrome is very nice throughout, there are some small dents and chips in the pait on it's nose just above the grill. The top bar on the front bumper is pushed back slightly. Chips behind each wheel, like all of them. Drives and runs like only a Jag V12 can.

From pictures this is a manual transmission car. I am adding this information since from the above write-up you cannot tell that.

Sellers descriptoin:
1972 Jaguar V-12 E-Type. The car has sustained water damage from being completely submerged. Prior to being flooded the car was in excellent condition. The car has just over 60k miles. The body is in excellent condition with no apparent damage. Due to being flooded, however, the car is beginning to show rust and will likely need to be stripped and re-painted. The chrome still presents quite well but shows some pitting.
Again, the car was flooded, completely submerged, in brackish water from Lake Pontchartrain. The car has damage which is representative of such conditions. Although I have not tried to start the car, I do not expect that it will run. All of the electrical and mechanical components of the car should be considered suspect and should be thoroughly inspected and repaired / replaced as necessary. The electrical system has likely experienced corrosion and will probably need to be replaced. The engine and transmission may or may not be salvageable.
