Ebay item 2/20/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $14,000, no reserve, no bids yet, 2 days left in auction. Car in Emmett, Michigan
Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar V12 Series 3 E-Type 2+2
This Jaguar has a remarkable interior with leather seats in great condition. The head liner needs attention there are no rips but is sagging. It only has 36,747 original miles and runs and drives great. This car was owned by an older business man and was the original owner and has just been cleared from estate. It is all original other than paint. The paint on the car is presentable but not perfect. It is equipped with a manual transmission that shifts perfect and has air conditioning and factory wire wheels with a matching spare. The engine compartment is all original Jaguar parts and has been meticulously maintained. Little surface rust around wheel wells otherwise very solid.

This 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 was acquired by the seller in 2007, reportedly from its original owner. Work completed in 2017 includes refinishing the car in silver blue as well as refreshing the interior and the 5.3-liter V12. Shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission, and the car is also equipped with a limited-slip differential, four-wheel disc brakes, quadruple carburetors, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a retro-style AM/FM radio, and air conditioning. This Series III E-Type is now offered with spare parts and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished in its current shade of silver blue following rust repairs as part of the work that was completed in 2016. It is equipped with uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, US-spec bumpers, pop-out rear quarter windows, and a power antenna.
Wire-spoke 15″ wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/70 Michelin Defender tires. The Series III E-Type was equipped from the factory with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The 2+2 cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench that are upholstered in blue leather and complemented by blue carpets. Interior appointments include a retro-style AM/FM radio, wind-up windows, a locking glovebox, and air conditioning.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 44k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 is equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 314 horsepower and 349 lb-ft of torque when new. Emissions components have been removed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
