Opening bid $3,500 reserve not met, no bids 6 days left in auction. 43k miles.

Sellers description:
1971 Jaguar E-Type in need of complete restoration. Partially disassembled. Bonnet removed. Engine partially disassembled. Seats removed. All parts which are removed are still with the vehicle (sans some missing nuts and bolts). Interior in very good condition. Dash has no cracks, but shows some wear from sitting in sun. Floors are mostly intact. Front floorboards where they connect with firewall are rusted through. Jack points in front are rusted and soft. There is rust around the rear wheel wells, but it is repairable. Lower bonnet where hinges are located is rusted and will need to be fixed or replaced. There are 4 Dunlop tires (brand new) which come with the car. Will not ship. Local pick up only.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
