Car to be at auction 4/14
www.classic-auctions.com/Auctions/24-04-2014-ImperialWarMuseumDuxford-1365/1971J ...

Auction description:
Sale Date: 24th April 2014
Lot Number: 66
1971 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster
Estimate: (£) 45,000 - 55,000
Reg Number: XEU652K
Chassis Number: 1S50448B/W
Engine Number: 7S3881SA
Cc: 5343
Body Colour: Red
Trim Colour: White
MOT ExpiryDate: T.B.A.

Offered for sale from a private collection, the vendor informs us this automatic transmission Series 3 convertible has been the subject of a substantial amount of work during the past eighteen months which included a bare metal respray for which photographs are on file. The car has also been retrimmed in white leather whilst work has been carried out on the suspension, brakes and shock absorbers with new parts being fitted as required. A replacement windscreen has also been fitted.

Finished in red with aforementioned white leather interior the car is now only being offered for sale due to a move overseas. Displaying an unwarranted c.69,000 miles on the odometer, this smart-looking E-Type is accompanied by a Swansea V5 document, MoT certificate to March 2015, current road fund licence, copies of previous MoTs dating back to 1988 together with a photographic record of works recently carried out.

PLEASE NOTE: The chassis number 1S50448B/W is in the number range for a fixed head coupe example and it is therefore believed the car has been converted to a roadster at some point in its life.

Now on eBay

Private Sale
1971 Series 3 auto E Type Convertible

with chrome wires

Fabulous body work and paint finish

Please note car's chassis number 1S50448B/W is heritage advised belongs to a coupe. This may mean the car was a coupe and converted to a roadster some time earlier in its life. I think you can't tell save the chassis number, the car is just outstanding. Frankly the photos don't do it justice.

The mileage is an unwarranted 69,000 miles with MOTs supporting the mileage back to 1988.
Current MOT to March 2015, current road tax to March 2015, classified as a historic vehicle.
The car has been completely re-trimmed in off white leather and new red carpets, custom made for the car with leather trim on the carpets.

Please go and compare with other series 3s on ebay, at £70-80,000 plus. You won't be disappointed. This was my baby but we are off permanently abroad soon. So an opportunity for someone.

Much money spent - see pictures for back to bare metal restoration. The car has also had work on the suspension, new shocker absorbers, brakes, hoses etc. New windscreen. The car is just lovely.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
