This 1974 Jaguar E-Type is a Series III roadster that is finished in maroon over a tan interior and powered by a 5.3-liter V12 backed by a four-speed manual gearbox. The car was purchased by its current owner out of Texas in 1991 and subsequently moved to Utah, where a refurbishment is said to have been performed less than 2k miles ago. Fuel and coolant flushes were carried out in 2018. This E-Type is offered on behalf of its current owner with a spare wheel, pre-refurbishment photos, and a clean Utah title in the owner’s name.
The body wears an older repaint, and blemishes are visible on several panel edges along with a separating piece of chrome fender beading. Backdated chrome overriders have been fitted to the bumpers. The tan soft top is pictured both raised and lowered but has a broken center latch.
Chrome wire wheels are fixed with short-eared “federal” spinner nuts and wear Pirelli P4000 tires. A full-size spare wheel and tools are housed in the trunk. A tan boot for the top is said to be included in the sale.
High-backed bucket seats are trimmed in tan leather and equipped with shoulder belts, while the floor is lined with matching carpets and mats. The Series III roadster was configured as a two-seater with an enclosed storage box beneath the rear parcel shelf.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a Smiths tachometer and a 160-mph speedometer that is said to have been changed in 1980 at 34k miles. The replacement five-digit odometer shows 12k miles, with actual mileage unknown. The black padded dash houses late-model rocker switches and five auxiliary gauges, while an air conditioner and period push-button AM/FM radio are mounted beneath.
The 5.3-liter V12 features single overhead camshafts for each cylinder bank, four SU carburetors, a Mallory electronic ignition module, and an electric cooling fan. The fuel and cooling systems were flushed in 2018. The seller notes a leaking fuel line union between the two left carburetors. Service records in the gallery cover from 2011 onward.
A four-speed manual transmission routes power to the rear wheels.

Lot #163036
This 1974 Jaguar E-Type is a Series III roadster that spent time in Utah and Texas before it was acquired by the seller on BaT in January 2021 and relocated to Canada. The car is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. It was refinished in maroon under previous ownership and has a tan interior, a tan convertible top, air conditioning, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ chrome knock-off wire wheels. Work under current ownership has included overhauling the engine, replacing the four SU carburetors, and installing a Moto-Lita steering wheel and shift knob and a RetroSound Europa Bluetooth-capable stereo. This E-Type Series III Roadster V12 is now offered in Canada with recent service records, removed parts, and a clean Ontario registration in the seller’s name.
The car was factory-finished in Regency Red and was refinished under previous ownership. Features include a tan soft top, a forward-hinged louvered hood, backdated chrome bumpers with overriders, and a power antenna. Close-up exterior photos are shown in the gallery. The seller states that the windows do not fit tightly when the top is up and that the convertible top boot grommets are misaligned.
Chrome wire wheels are fixed with short-eared “federal” spinner nuts and wear Pirelli P4000 tires. A full-size spare wheel and tools are housed in the trunk. The brake booster and master cylinder assembly were replaced in August 2022.
The high-backed bucket seats were reupholstered under previous ownership in tan leather and are equipped with shoulder belts, while the floor is lined with color-coordinated carpets and mats. The Series III roadster was configured as a two-seater with an enclosed storage box beneath the rear parcel shelf. The shift knob was replaced in 2021 and a RetroSound Europa radio was installed below the air conditioner in April 2024.
The Moto-Lita steering wheel and horn button were installed in June 2021. Instrumentation includes a Smiths tachometer and a 160-mph speedometer that is said to have been changed in 1980. The replacement five-digit odometer shows 13k miles, of which approximately 800 were added under current ownership, and total mileage is unknown. Five auxiliary gauges are centrally mounted.
The 5.3-liter V12 features single overhead camshafts for each cylinder bank and four SU carburetors. An overhaul in 2021 included reconditioning the cylinder heads, adjusting the valves, grinding the camshafts, machining the flywheel, and replacing the carburetors, piston rings, timing chain, distributor, oil pump, water pump, power steering pressure line, radiator hoses, thermostat covers, gaskets, and starter motor. The spark plugs, distributor, and wiring were replaced in May 2023 and the oil and coolant were changed in April 2024.
A four-speed manual transmission routes power to the rear wheels. The clutch assembly was replaced in March 2021.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists component numbers and a date of dispatch of March 5, 1974.
Removed parts and service records included in the sale are shown in the gallery.
The vehicle does not have a title and is being sold on its Ontario registration, which serves as the ownership document in Ontario, Canada.
