52,952 MILES, ON EBAY 02/08, SELLER WRITES: ?
This car is a fantastic restoration candidate. Acquired from the estate of the original owner, it comes with extensive documentation dating back to the original window sticker. You’ll probably never find a better or more complete written history for an automobile of this vintage. The car was optioned with automatic transmission, wire wheels, air conditioning and Multiplex stereo receiver and tape player. It also includes the desirable factory hardtop.

The car is complete with all original major assemblies intact, providing an excellent platform for total restoration as these cars now represent six figure values in top condition. Alternatively, the car could be back on the road again with little effort and expense, if an occasional 'driver' was the goal. The engine fires and runs well when jumped off a fresh battery, although the car is not currently roadworthy because brakes do not hold hydraulic pressure. Service records indicate a transmission rebuild within the last 6000 miles, as well as the rebuild of both cylinder heads within the same time period.

The body is pretty straight with good panel fit but some typical rust issues exist in the bonnet, principally damage to the belly pan under the radiator. In fact, the bonnet and especially the bellypan is the worst aspect of the car. There is both corrosion and minor accident damage up front. The floors and sills appear to be pretty solid, perhaps well preserved as a result of the Ziebart rust-proofing service performed back in 1975 according to records. Interior is mostly usable, although the seat covers and carpets are showing their age. Actually, most of the interior and exterior trim is quite presentable.

We have the original title and all the requisite legal paperwork assigning ownership to Classic Jaguar from the attorney representing the deceased owner's estate. Please examine the numerous photographs and ask questions before bidding. Although this car is running, and could no doubt be driving with some very basic service work, remember that it is being represented as a project. This is not a car you can drive home. It will need to be trailered to its new home.

This car is being sold AS IS with no warranty of any kind being offered by the seller.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
