Auction description:
The Salon Privé Sale 2017
1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster
Lot No.: 249
Registration: Not Specified
Chassis Number: 1S2191
Engine Number: 7 S12782SB
CC: 5343
Year of Manufacture: 1973
Estimate (£): 70,000 - 80,000
This, right-hand drive, Series III V12 roadster was registered in March 1973 and is the desirable manual version. It's finished in Old English White with a deep Red interior and chrome wire wheels. We're informed this car was exported to Jersey in 2008 to form part of a significant private collection and it has resided there ever since. Clearly, large sums have been spent on this car during its life in order for it to present in the condition it is today. Regrettably, the history file is very thin as the Jersey owner was a very private man and only the registration documents were passed onto the current owner. What is interesting, however, is that the UK registration plate, 'FUE 197M' was the registration the car had before it was exported and shows only one previous UK owner. A Jaguar Heritage Certificate has been applied for at the time of writing and hopefully will be united with the E-Type prior to the sale confirming its credentials. All import duties and taxes will be paid as it returns to the shores from whence it originated in time for our Salon Privé Sale.
FUE 197M has recently been serviced by our vendor and is enjoying a new stainless steel exhaust. This fabulous Series III reportedly drives as well as it looks, and will repay a close inspection.

Sold by Vintage and Prestige Cars of Grays in November 2017. Seller's description below.
www.vandp.net/sales/1234/1973-e-type-jaguar-v12-manual-roadster/
A lovely low mileage car in impeccable driving condition. This manual gearbox car is showing 52,288 miles from new and is in very fine order. The engine fires up instantly and is utterly silent in its running and operation. A stainless steel exhaust has been painstakingly fabricated and fitted with a nod towards long term durability.
The car is finished in its original exterior colour of lovely Old English White paintwork and has a burgundy hide interior along with maroon door cards and carpets. Chrome wire wheels are fitted and it is shod with four excellent tyres. The car has resided in Jersey for the last decade having been bought as a freshly restored item to go into a Jersey based collection. A new mohair hood is fitted to the car.
This is one of those low mileage examples in really fine way above average condition. If anything, the best part of the car is the drive with its silent powerful engine and supple suspension making it a pleasure to drive. The car will be supplied with its UK registration with UK taxes paid.
