    Body Colour: Red

    MOT ExpiryDate: Oct 2013

Riding on chrome wire wheels, this apparently very original, low mileage 1974 V12 Roadster was purchased by the vendor from Swanmore Motors of Boscombe in May 1977. He informs us he is the Jaguar's second private keeper and has added just 10,000 or so miles to the first owner's total of circa 17,000. While in his care it has been carefully maintained and equipped with a new stainless steel exhaust system, Optical ignition, battery and the E-Type's first ever set of replacement tyres. He currently views the bodywork, Red paintwork, chrome and Beige leather trim as "excellent and original", and likewise the V12 engine and four-speed manual gearbox; though he notes that the engine "is not detailed". It is understood this remarkably unmolested Jaguar will have a new MOT by the time of the sale.

PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle has an MOT until October 2013 and Tax until March 2013.

    Car now offered at:
    www.eaglegb.com/cars/1974-e-type-series-3-roadster-vlb343m

    Sellers description:
A completely genuine un-restored and low mileage V12 Roadster that has been well maintained by its single owner since 1977.
A low mileage Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster for sale from Eagle E-Types in Sussex.

The original chrome parts, beige leather interior and hood are all still present and in super condition. Quite remarkably it wore its original factory fitted tyre's until only this year confirming that the 26,998 miles it has driven since new were covered somewhat sensibly.

The specification has remained standard except for a stainless steel exhaust. Standard specification includes the manual gearbox and chrome wire wheels.

It was supplied new by HR Owen in April 1974 and it has a good history file that includes it's original service wallet with handbooks etc. The last owners' purchase invoice, dated in 1977, accompany the many receipts documenting the service history and maintenance work conducted.

As an un-restored car that is very nearly 40 years old it obviously shows signs of age and it does not stand bright and sharp like a restored car - but it has undoubtedly been very well cared for throughout its life. We can, of course, improve the aesthetics however required.

It has the best preserved UK supplied body shell that we have ever seen and the stunning condition of the original chrome wheels is testament to just how exceptional this E-Type is.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
