Ebay item 5/7/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1969-Jaguar-Series-II-E-Type-Red-Roadster- ...
Opening bid $20,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Two owner low mileage (61,000) collector 60’s Jaguar 4-speed red roadster in excellent condition. This 1969 Series II E-type 4.2 liter vehicle is being offered for the first time and is part of an estate sale settlement.

The vehicle was purchased by the late owner in California in 1971. It still has the blue original California plate and at least two California state registrations from the early 70’s. The owner moved to Michigan in the late 1970’s where it was re-titled. The owner kept it at his climate controlled shop and it was driven occasionally almost every year until about 10 years ago. He had it repainted in 1992 and a new black leather interior and convertible top were also installed that year. It was not driven 1000 miles since that was work was done. The paint is in excellent condition and just recently rubbed out for the first time. The vehicle has been recently detailed and mechanically checked. The fuel was drained, all lines cleaned, and a new fuel pump has been installed.

This vehicle drives extremely well and is a great driving machine. There are some maintenance records and several manuals with the car. This vehicle will also come with a new complete exhaust system – manifold to exhaust tips, the owner purchased but never installed in a box just recently discovered. There is no rust on this vehicle and only has one very small ding on the left front fender with the paint not broken.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
