This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was acquired by the owner’s late husband in 1984 and has remained a long-term refurbishment project throughout their ownership. It is finished in black over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a replacement black soft top, 15″ Dunlop-style knock-off alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, triple Weber side-draft carburetors, a louvered clamshell hood, and a heater. This XKE roadster is now offered on dealer consignment in Oregon with service records and a clean California title.
The car is finished in black, and exterior equipment includes a replacement black soft top, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets. The selling dealer notes the convertible top will not latch, the side marker lights do not work, and the paint requires buffing.
Dunlop-style knock-off alloy wheels are mounted with 215/70 Cooper tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. Work in 2020 involved replacing the wheels and tires and rebuilding the brakes. The tools to remove the wheels are missing.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include a heater. The floor panels were replaced and the seats were recovered in 2020. The seats do not adjust, the gear lever cover is not fitted, the glovebox is missing, and there is play in the steering column.
The steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 99k miles.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with triple Weber side-draft carburetors. Work in 2020 involved repairing the radiator, rebuilding the alternator, and replacing the spark plugs, exhaust pipes, and muffler. The selling dealer notes the engine requires a tune-up, ignition timing, and carburetor adjustment. The choke warning light remains illuminated, the differential output shaft seals leak, and exhaust clamps are missing or misaligned.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is equipped with coated headers and a stainless steel bell exhaust system.
The car is located in Oregon but is titled in California. The selling dealer notes that the car has not been registered for the road use since the late owner bought it, and the registration stickers on the California license plate are from November 1994.
