Car was at auction in '08

Auction description:
Lot number 69
Hammer value N/S
Description Jaguar E-Type S2 Roadster
Registration PNT 629G
Year 1969
Colour Red
Engine size 4,200 cc
Chassis No. IR8450
Engine No. 7R4122/9

Imported from Indiana, USA, in 1989, this 1969 car was converted to right hand-drive on arrival by Jaguar specialists Whitehouse of Dudley. In the current ownership since 1994, the car has only been very lightly used and is said to drive well with a "very sweet" engine. Described as being in "good overall condition" it has 12 months MOT and tax and comes with various old MOTs back to 1996 and a spare parts catalogue. It looks good value at the guide price suggested today. Just fitted with a new stainless steel exhaust a few days ago.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
