Ebay item 1/17/23

www.ebay.com/itm/185741270733

Opening bid $10,000, no reserve, no bids 6 days left in auction, seller bossflyer73, 100k miles.

Seller's description:

1969 Jaguar XKE, Jaguar Heritage Docs. Very early Series 2. NOM 4.2L; 4spd, desireable triple SU carburetors. Very solid car, quarters, rockers, floors, hood very good condition. Slight scale on the floor to toe board junction on the drivers side but no rust through. New parts: polished stainless exhaust, entire wiring harness including fuse boxes, ignition switch, turn signal switch, Hitachi alternator upgrade, new relays, basically everything electrical has been replaced so there’s no worries on anything finicky with the Lucas wiring. New front turn signal assemblies, rear tail lights and reverse light assemblies. The only item that doesn’t work is the wipers due to the motor. More new Parts: gas tank, battery cables, I upgraded to the spin on oil filter adapter, several minor parts, etc. I put a lot into this car to make this a reliable driver so all new wiring was a must. All gauges work, interior has new carpet. The car is very solid. There is a dent on the driver’s side rear quarter panel that would need some massaging. The paint is so-so, and the original color is Willow Green. Car starts right up everytime. The car is titled as a 1968 for whatever reason (dating back to the 1990s - registrations to show that) but it’s a Series 2 no doubt based on the VIN, lights, DOM, etc. Transmission has a few synchro issues but it still goes through the gears. Mainly if you don’t wind up 2nd to 3rd it’s smooth. Under hard acceleration, I just go second to fourth and it bypass third all together. A great driving E-Type for the same price you can get a major project for. I’ve had my fun with it and am moving on to another car. Clear Texas title held by my bank.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
