Ebay item 9/24/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $2,500, no reserve, no bids yet 2 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This is a salvage vehicle and is being sold for parts only. It is not operational or street legal.

1969 Jaguar XKE 2 + 2 Coupe. This car is being sold in as is condition for parts only. I bought this car in 1986 with the intention of restoring it and never got to it. The car has about 46,000 original miles and is mostly complete but has many of the XKE body problems. The lower front panel on the bonnet is rusted off at the hinges, lower rust on the bonnet side panels at the rear where it meets the cowl, the outer and inner rockers are rusty over the wheel arches, left floor is pretty good, right floor has a hole and rust along the inner rocker shown in the pictures, the rear floor and trunk floor are ok. The bumpers would probably clean for a driver or would make excellent cores for rechroming. The engine turned over when I got it, I don't know its present condition. The air cleaner and misc pieces are in the trunk. It is a 4 speed car. The interior is pretty nice and could be used as is after cleaning. The dash and gauges are nice, even has the original Phillips radio. The wheels might clean but have a considerable amount of surface rust. The rest of the chrome trim is in good condition. I thought I had the radiator but haven't found it yet. I will include it if I find it. The windshield has about a 4" crack at the top. The rest of the glass in the car is good. There is a current Illinois title for this car that was issued in 1972, but it does have some signature issues. We are located in northwest Illinois.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
