Starting bid $15k, no bids yet. 4 days left in auction. 56k miles. Frankfort, Kentucky

    Sellers comment:

all original 1969 Jaguar XKE 2+2 with just 54k. This car was bought new off the showroom floor and has been garaged and covered since pruchase. All maintenance has been done by Jaguar and records kept. The car has been impeccably maintained. With minor work this could be a show car. Left rear fender has almost imperceptible spider web cracks in the paint and the drivers seat could stand to be re-upholstered but not imperative. Don't miss out on a chance to own a once in a lifetime all original Jag. Maroon in color with leather interior and that long sexy hood, wire wheels , throaty exhaust, like no other car in the world.

    Vehicle Condition

    Excellent to good condition.

    Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar 4.2E 2+2 Coupe A, one owner all original with original bill of sale, owners manual, and service records. This car was purchased from the showroom floor in August of 1969 and has never been out of the garage or uncovered when parked. The car has absolutely no rust as evidenced by pictures of body and undercarriage. Interior dash, headliner, rear storage compartment are all in excellent shape. 9.5 of 10. The seats have new cushion and head rest foam and the leather is in very good condition with normal wear and no splits or rips in either seat or seat backs 8.0 of 10. The chrome is absolutely beautiful with no rust, pits or discoloration anywhere, The wire wheels including the spare are all perfect down to each spoke and the Jaguar valve stem covers. The exterior paint is all original and shines very well but is showing age with some spider webbing but nothing requiring restoration. There is a small dent in the hood(see picture) which could be easily repaired. Engine runs perfectly, twin Stromberg carbs were rebuilt in 2007. Transmission is as new, shifts perfectly. Car was recently driven about 85 miles at freeway speeds with no problems, perfect temperature, oil pressure, and battery voltage. Front end alignment is perfect and the ride is exceptional for a car of this age. This car has been maintained as a daily driver. There is absolutely no rust on floor pans, undercarriage, body panels etc. Car is original in every way right down to the tool kit with brass knock off and hammer for the wire wheels. A/C, radio, clock, and interior dome light are not working. Dome light just needs to be rewired. You will not find a better all original XKE anywhere, car could be conquors quality with very little effort.

    Private Party or Dealer: Dealer

    Lot #239893

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 was refurbished prior to 2018, and it is finished in red over black leather and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a louvered clamshell hood, dual Stromberg carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Sony CD stereo. This XKE 2+2 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Pennsylvania title.

The car was repainted in Regency Red under prior ownership, according to the seller. Exterior equipment includes a louvered clamshell hood, a driver-side mirror, bright trim, dual exhaust outlets, and wraparound chrome bumpers. The seller notes areas of bubbles in the paint.

Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 205/75 Hankook Optimo H724 whitewall tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The 2+2 cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpeting. Interior appointments include a heater, a Bluetooth-compatible Sony CD stereo, a locking glovebox, three-point front seatbelts, and rear lap belts. Work to the air conditioning system in preparation for the sale reportedly included recharging the system with R12 refrigerant as well as replacing the Schrader valve and various belts.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for battery voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 59k miles.

The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with dual Stromberg 175 CD2 carburetors and was rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
