Ebay item 6/19/08

Car has a buy it now price of $8,500 available for 9 days. Complete VIN on this car is J691R41906BW.

Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar E type which is remarkably solid with no rust, if you are looking for an easy running project this may be the car for you.

The Body
This car originally came from southern CA and remained there until the late 80's due to the dry climate it preserved the body and floorboards very well, there is no traces of rust in the car. The major thing this car needs is the glass, some kids thought it would be entertaining to break the windows out of the car and damaged all the glass with the exception of one side glass. From what i have researched you can get decent used glass at a reasonable price from guys who are preforming concourse restorations. The paint should be redone, there is a place in the bonnet that had about 1/16 in of filler skimmed over the surface and was not properly applied causing some cracking in the filler, there is also a place on the bonnet where the paint is chipping and the right rear bumper is also bent. Overall the body is in good shape and would be fairly easy to paint.

The Engine & Chassis
This car was converted years ago to a 1968 Ford 302 with a C4 transmission. The conversion looks good and enables almost any shop or individual to service the drive train and keep the car running at a fraction of the cost of jaguar parts. The car has only been driven a couple of miles in the past year so it will need some routine service. The engine starts and sounds good but will need a basic tune up (plugs, wires, carb adj etc... ) The right manifold has a leak, the brakes work but need to be bled, and one tire has a leak. I have driven the car a couple of miles to test it and it seams to rune fine. If i do not sell the car i will install the glass and spend a weekend on a tune up and drive it as-is.

The Interior
The interior is decent but will need some work. the headliner is falling, the rear package tray needs to be redone etc... The front seats look very good and the carpet has been replaced. The wooden jag steering wheel is in great shape.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
