Very nice E-type Jaguar. I got this car from Steve's British Conection near Chicogo about 5 years ago. It was a pretty solid car as far as Jaguars go. The previous owner had sent the car to a body shop and had new rockers and rear trailing arm mounts installed. The welding job was not real pretty but it was very solid. The ugly welds were all under the car so I didn't care that much. I stripped the car down to the bare shell and started from there. The motor was like new, I had the crank turned, had new rist pin bushings intalled on the rods, then assembled the motor with new rings and bearings. The head was great, I hand laped the valves checked the clearences and bolted it on. The cam chains were replaced along with the tensioners. The motor runs perfect. The trans and rear diferential looked good, so they were painted and installed. The trans shifts as it should and neither make any noise. All the front and rear suspension components were replaced. The interior is original except for the seat covers. I was going to change the color from bisket to tan, then I found the correct color for the seats. That is why the door and side panels are tan. The carpet is original and is showing it's age. The rear seat is useless so I removed it and built the panels you see. There is a little bit of storage under there now. I did all the work myself including the paint. It is not a $10,000 paint job, but it's as good as some body shop work I have seen. I should mention the carbs. I found an E-type manifold on ebay and couldn't aford SU's at the time, so I rebuilt some TR6 carbs I had laying around. This setup behaves so nice I never bothered putting on the SU's. The bumpers and chrome are original, again I could not aford new, but they were in decent shape (except for the rear it is slightly bent). The point I'm making here is that this is a realy nice driver, but it's not a concours 100 point car. This car runs drives and stops as it should. There are no mechanical isues with this car. If you are serious about this car come and inspect it.
