On ebay 12/25

www.ebay.com/itm/205950495767

Car has a buy it now price of $29,000 for 28 days, seller carsanddogs1970, 35k miles

Seller's description:

This E-type turned up in the Hills above Palo Alto, Ca. We had come for one thing but now we feasted our eyes on this long, low red Jag. Soon after a little dickeri/ng, hands were clasped and paperwork exchanged. This Car had belonged to an affluent couple and was driven by a woman named Madeline. The jag was serviced by a specialty shop nearby and the docs were mainly for tune-ups and oil changes with an occasional"did not start." The location of this car was nothing short of spectacular. The man and his wife had built a dream home in the exclusive neighborhood and settled down to raise their kids. Now the children were re-locating the mom and dad and the home would be demolished to make way for a modern and much larger abode. The place was where race cars came to die. There were open cockpit track cars everywhere left to wither away. There was a Poncho stock car that supposedly ran around at Riverside. It looked the part with wild graphics and flares. There was a trailer with stacked of rims and tires and a little mg midget on a trailer plastered with sponsor stickers. It was a lot to absorb.

We got this car back to the lab and dusted it off. There was no rust on the body. We were ecstatic. It cranked over and fired with no second thought. Wow! What a score. The interior was remarkably tidy for how the car had been treated. We set the carpets out to get washed clean in some heavy rains. They came out good. The rugs are faded but not torn and seem useable. The Chassis looks good also with no rust holes or rotten sections. Overall the car survived ten years of dormancy in fair shape. The brakes are holding a pedal and the tires all hold air. The car rolls easily and the steering goes lock to lock fine with no hangups or weak spots. The wheel looks good but the wood feels fragile and delicate. The drivers side had a boil filled in section that flaked off. The filler is about a finger nail deep. Its spread very evenly and was mixed correctly. The car will need a thorough mechanical going over before hitting 50mph. It could be shined up and used as is very easily. Please ask any questions and we wish you a good new year.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
