Outstanding 1970 Jaguar E-type Coupe for sale. Owned by long-time Jaguar enthusiast and former JCNA director who has taken loving care of this beautiful car for almost 20 years. It underwent a major mechanical and body restoration in 2007 by renowned E-type specialist, Lippencott's Garage. The car has many upgrades to make it a superb driving car, including triple-SU carbs, stainless exhaust and headers, aluminum high efficiency radiator and modern fans by Cool Cat, 15" Dayton stainless wire wheels with original Series 2 knockoffs, suspenstion rebuilt at all four wheels, new shocks, bushings, uprated torsion bars, etc., factory AC converted to R134 with a Sanden compressor and new receiver/dryer, modern digital FM/CD radio with new speakers. Original transmission was fully rebuilt, with new sychros and clutch. Original 4.2L engine overhauled and runs strong, with Pertronics ignition in orignal Lucas distributor. Car was repainted in 2007 by Lippencott in its original Midnight Blue, bumpers and trim rechromed. Car's original paint was taken down to bare metal, showing virtually no rust, and properly prepped/primed/rust proofed and resprayed professionally. Monocoque is solid. Front end suspension bushings refreshed 2018. Many more upgrades and parts replaced too numerous to list. Interior is mostly original and in excellent condition, with exception of new dash pad, seat belts, radio and steering wheel (original steering wheel included with car). All hoses have been replaced and are maintained in excellent condition. Pirelli P4000 tires are in very good condition showing little wear. Odometer shows 43,000 miles, believed to be accurate. This is an excellent example of the Series 2 E-types and a strong running and excellent driving car.

Price: $74,500 obo

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
