Sellers description:
This is a tastefully restored E-type with performance modifications that make for a very good driver.
Details
This vehicle has been restored by its previous owner, his goal for the restoration was to make it an excellent driver that could be taken to shows. He wanted it to be a beautiful car and made minor alterations to the body to enhance its beauty. The car is available now for the first time because the past owner is doing expansive worldwide traveling and does not want the car to sit for extended periods of time in storage. He had a tremendous passion for this car. He campaigned the car in 4 shows winning trophies in each. The car is currently registered in California with custom plates that read JAGZONE. A great deal of money was spent on the restoration which included performance upgrades to make for a better driver. Some of the upgrades include insulation to block sound and heat, and an electronic ignition for better performance.

BAT description:
This 1970 Jaguar XK-E 4.2 Fixed Head Coupe is a low mileage Series II car which was largely restored in the mid-1990s and repainted in its original color in 2003. This car is documented with an attached Jaguar Heritage Certificate which shows 1R 28106 was dispatched in July 1970 and still retains its original engine. It has covered under 1000 miles in 9 years with the seller and just over 24k from new. Finished to a high standard, the car sports excellent paintwork, a well trimmed interior and straight and clean underpinnings to match. The restoration is well documented, and invoices for the major items are included and can be seen in the gallery below. The car received a new clutch last year and has been maintained for regular use despite the low miles.
Repainted in 2003 with new window seals, windshield, gaskets and body rubber fitted at the same time, this XKE shows very well throughout. A minor blemish near the left headlight is the only noted mark on the bodywork, and the paint otherwise shows an excellent shine and deep finish. Prior to the repaint all exterior brightwork was re-chromed and all items still show an excellent shine with no pitting. The 72-spoke wheels wear Dunlop SP-40 tires, and the requisite jack, hammer and spinner tool for these wheels remain in the car's tool kit. The interior was reupholstered in the mid-1990s, and the black leather surfaces show little wear. This example is fitted with additional sound deadening in several areas, including the wheel wells and trunk, to make touring with this car more comfortable. All gauges, switches and other features are said to work correctly apart from the antenna. The Moto-Lita steering wood-rimmed wheel is fitted to an adjustable column and stands out in the all-black interior. Some of the added sound deadening can be seen in the spare tire well, and the cargo area appears very clean with good upholstery throughout. The 4-speed gearbox is said to be in good condition, and a new clutch was fitted last year. The engine, gearbox, rear end and electrical systems were overhauled during the car's initial restoration between 1993 and 1996.
During the car's restoration in the 1990s the front and rear suspension were overhauled. Many good underbody shots are viewable below. Per the seller the refurbished suspension offers a quiet and well controlled ride. The floor pans remain straight with no evidence of past repairs. This Series 2 car features stock 3-piston Girling calipers at the front and inboard brakes at the rear, and is said to stop well and the system offers good feel through the pedal.
