Sellers description:
Solid Jag coupe from estate, stored last 15 years. 14K original miles, excellent red interior, engine free, did not try to start it. Some body work evident under right rear bumper, repaint and old repairs to lower body in rear needs to be redone. Nice solid car, can be put back on the road and drive and enjoy as is, or restore to compete at the next concours d'elegance in your neighborhood! This is a FHC not 2+2 Coupe. Month/Year 4-1970, VIN 1 R 27924

Current bid US $5,600 reserve not met 6 bids 9 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Gaylordsville, Connecticut. Previous auction ended at $19,200 after 22 bids.

Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar XKE Coupe E-type. White with a Red interior. Wire wheels. Car sat for several years, it does start but has not been run on the road in a long time. Will need going thru to be road worthy. Top Side shows fairly well with some paint flaws such as chips and scratches, interior shows very well. underside will need floors replaced. Car comes with jack and spare wheel. These are one of the most beautiful cars ever made! Series 2 represent a great value in a classic Jaguar XKE E-type coupe, while this car does need work, it is worth doing as these are one of the most popular collector cars from the 1960's and 1970's, they have world wide appeal. Car is located in northwestern Connecticut.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
