This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II fixed-head coupe finished in dark blue over a beige leather interior and is powered by a numbers-matching 4.2L inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was ordered new through Wescott Motors, Inc. of National City, California, and was manufactured in December 1969. According to the selling dealer, it resided with the first owner in California until 2018, and the selling dealer acquired it in December 2020. Equipment includes chrome bumpers with bumper guards, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, dual SU carburetors, and an aftermarket AM/FM/cassette stereo. This Series II XKE coupe is now offered by the selling dealer with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, a letter from Wescott Motors to the original owner, an order form from Henly House Jaguar in London, England, service records, California registration receipts, and a clean California title.
The body was refinished in its factory Dark Blue approximately seven years ago during previous ownership. Features include chrome bumpers with overriders, a single chrome side mirror, and dual exhaust tips exiting below the rear fascia.
15″ knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard rear rotors, and the car rides on four-wheel independent suspension.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in beige leather with headrests, matching door panels, beige carpets, and a black dash pad. Equipment includes black lap belts, black rubber floor mats, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. Wear is visible on the seats and the driver’s door sill, and warping can be seen on the dash pad. The seller notes that the heater hoses have been bypassed.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges to monitor battery voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. A VDO oil pressure gauge has been fitted in place of the factory Smiths unit, and the odometer shows 56k miles.
The 4.2-liter XK inline-six features dual SU carburetors in place of the factory Stromberg units and was rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. Additional equipment includes an aluminum radiator, dual electric cooling fans, and finned alloy camshaft covers. A cylinder compression test in October 2020 showed results of 125-135psi across all six cylinders, and an oil change was performed in February 2021.
The engine number 7R9648-9 matches the stamping on the car’s identification plate as well as the number noted on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors and identification numbers and shows a manufacture date of December 24, 1969.

Lot #136881
This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II fixed-head coupe that was manufactured in December 1969 and ordered new through Henley House in London, England via an Overseas Purchase Plan from Wescott Motors, Inc. of National City, California. It remained registered in the state with the first owner until 2018 and was previously sold on BaT in March 2021 before the selling dealer’s acquisition a year later. A mechanical refresh carried out in 2023 consisted of overhauling the cylinder head of the 4.2-liter inline-six, replacing the engine mounts, changing the fluids, and servicing the rear differential, suspension, and brakes. In addition to a four-speed manual transmission, the car is further equipped with a louvered clamshell hood, chrome bumpers with overriders, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Phase Linear AM/FM/cassette stereo. Finished in dark blue over beige leather, this Series II XKE coupe is now offered by the selling dealer with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, original purchase documents, service records, manufacturer’s literature, a tool kit, and a clean California title.
The body was refinished in its factory dark blue approximately 10 years ago under previous ownership. Exterior details include a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers with overriders, a single chrome side mirror, and dual exhaust tips exiting below the rear fascia.
Wire wheels measuring 15″ in diameter are secured by three-eared knock-off hubs and mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires showing 2015 date codes. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard rear rotors, and the car rides on four-wheel independent suspension. Since it was last listed on BaT, the front a-arms, rear axle assembly, and brakes have been serviced.
The cabin features bucket seats with headrests retrimmed in beige leather as well as a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets, the latter of which are protected by rubber floor mats. The dashboard pad has also been repaired since the previous listing, and interior appointments include a Phase Linear AM/FM/cassette stereo, a heater, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a locking glovebox. The car was ordered new with air conditioning but no components for the system are installed.
Smiths instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and readouts for battery voltage, water temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 57k miles, approximately 400 of which have been added by the selling dealer.
Previously equipped with dual SU carburetors, the 4.2-liter XK inline-six is now fitted with Zenith-Stromberg units and was factory rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque. Additional equipment includes a Ron Davis Racing Products aluminum radiator, dual electric cooling fans, and finned alloy camshaft covers. The cylinder head was refreshed in June 2023, and additional work last year consisted of replacing the engine mounts and changing the fluids. A leak is noted from the rope seal.
A photo of the engine block stamping is shown above.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and the rear differential was serviced in 2023.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors and identification numbers and shows a manufacture date of December 24, 1969. A letter from Wescott Motors to the original owner and an order form from Henly House Jaguar in London, England will accompany the car in addition to a tool kit, service records, and manufacturer’s literature.

Offering this low mileage, well documented and storied 1970 Series ll Jaguar XKE Fixed Head Coupe. Acquired from the estate of the devoted original owner. Finished in its original Dark Blue and Beige leather and factory wire wheels. A recent mechanical refresh, including top end, clutch, brakes, suspension and upgraded cooling system has rendered this XKE into an exquisite driver.
This is not a concours car, showing a few minor imperfections and leaving a little oil from the rear main seal after a hard days work. It still presents extremely well and is completely road ready with all electrics in working order. The real strength of this Jag is how tight and strong it drives.
