This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II Coupe is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 16″ Turrino wire wheels, triple SU carburetors, tubular headers, a stainless steel exhaust system, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an Alpine CD stereo, Öhlins coilovers, and air conditioning. The car was refurbished between 1999 and 2003, with further work after the owner bought it in 2015. This XKE is now offered on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, an operating manual, service records, a car cover, and a clean Indiana title.
The car was repainted in what the selling dealer states is Porsche Seal Grey Metallic under previous ownership. Exterior equipment includes sealed-beam open headlights, dual side mirrors, wraparound chrome bumpers, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets. Modifications include LED headlights with Hella glass lenses, LED taillights with body-color backings, and a right rearview mirror. The front and rear bumpers and overriders were re-chromed and fitted with Series I-style rubber seals. Work in October 2021 involved refinishing the firewall, lower quarters, and rocker panels.
The 16″ Turrino wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 205/65 Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires, and a matching spare is stowed in the trunk. The front wheels feature a competition-laced pattern, while the rears are deep-set well-laced. The suspension is modified nickel-plated front components and Öhlins shock absorbers all around. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with AP Racing front calipers over slotted and ventilated rotors, as well as slotted and ventilated inboard-mounted rear rotors. The steering rack mounts and column bearing kit were replaced in 2003.
The cabin features bucket seats that were reupholstered in black leather, accompanied by a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include an Alpine CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, Memphis Audio speakers, an aftermarket shift knob, and aftermarket air conditioning. The headliner and seat cushions were replaced in 2003.
A Nardi steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 56k miles.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was modified under previous ownership with triple SU carburetors, aftermarket camshafts, a ported and polished cylinder head, ceramic-coated stainless-steel headers, and a Ron Davis aluminum radiator. Additional features include polished carburetor covers, polished camshaft covers, NGK spark plugs with original-style Champion caps, cloth-covered silicone fluid hoses, a lightweight battery, and nickel-plated block-off plates. A one-piece rear main seal is also fitted. Work in 2015 included replacing the front crankshaft seal, main bearings, engine sprocket, idler gear, oil pump gear, cylinder head gasket, cooling fan, and alternator.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The frame rails and picture frame were upgraded with SNG Barratt components. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced in 2015.
