Ebay item 8/1/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-1969-jaguar-xke-series-ii-e-type-original-preserv ...
Current bid US $8,988 reserve not met 10 bids 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE Series II Coupe showing 53,859 miles offered by Gas Monkey Garage!

I'm offering this very solid and honest Texas car with the optional Factory A/C just as we found it so you can appreciate the incredible condition it's in. It was owned by a very enthusiastic admirer of the XKE (he owned several!) for most of its life. He was able to enjoy and maintain it as it should have been until he was no longer able to enjoy driving it anymore. At that point he focused on maintaining and preserving it in an indoor building (last inspected in 1983). The carpets were removed from the floor and a thick waxy/oily coating was applied to preserve the floor panels (I remember something called Waxol from the past). This preserved the floors and tub from the fate of most E-Types (rust) and the result is this extremely well preserved, but not restored XKE Coupe. The doors and hinges are extremely solid and tight. Included are the original floor carpets along with a period correct set of Sisal floor mats. Present as well are the original owners manuals including the service charts and portfolio!

The motor oil is clean and full, coolant tank looks clean and full as well. The motor turns and the carbs are free of corrosion and move freely. This 1969 Jaguar XKE has been stored for nearly 30 years and hasn't been started or driven in quite some time, therefore it will need to be completely serviced before attempting to drive it for the first time. Due to our filming schedule we will not be able to service this XKE (sold as is/where is).

The exterior is in amazing condition having survived with very minimal rust or damage (the paint has been re sprayed at some time in the past and while it still has a glossy appearance there is an area on the nose where it didn't adhere well) and all of the chrome bumpers and trim are present making for an easy exterior restoration. ( please note the rear window seal has deteriorated and will need to be replaced during the restoration along with the front windshield seal, which has deteriorated as well) there is a small chip in the passenger side of the windshield that has started to spread into a crack (unable to see it in the pics).

The interior is also in incredible condition for having not been restored. The dash is complete and clean (because I will not attempt to start this car, I cannot determine if the gauges operate as they should). The seats are complete and operational with wear showing in the leather surfaces. All door panels, interior panels and the rear luggage compartment are in phenomenal condition (I don't believe I've ever seen any this nice on an unrestored car!) as well as the headliner.

Underside pics reveal a very solid tub and mechanical components that are unmolested with minimal rust present except the exhaust (which will need replacing during the restoration).

This rare 1969 Jaguar XKE will be seen on the hit show Fast N Loud and the winning bidder may have the option of taking delivery here at the shop or we'll help with shipping logistics. Clear Title in hand!

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
