Ebay item 7/2/09
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-2-person-coupe-factory-AC-low-miles-ve ...
Opening bid $15,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This very nice e-type fixed head coupe came from a family that had the car for 24 years and the car was recently sold by the widow. The Jaguar is matching
numbers and only has 40K original miles. This is the more desirable 2 person coupe and not a 2+2. It has factory air conditioner, which is a very desirable feature on a XKE coupe as the cabin can get quite warm on these cars.

The British Racing Green color is original to the car. The body received a high quality repaint at some time and it still looks very good. The chrome, wire wheels, glass and tires are all in very good condition. The interior is mostly original and in extremely nice condition for its age. The seats have just the right amount of patena that convey that this has been a car that has been well loved all its life. The dash top and headliner are in great condition with no cracks or stains. The car still has the front license plate bracket, which is rare to see anymore. All XKE imported into the USA had these front brackets but most were removed by a prior owner and
discarded.

Mechanically the engine starts right up and without smoke. The car idles and runs well and has plenty of power. The transmission is the all synchronized 4 speed manual gearbox. Transmission and clutch are working well. I can tell there has been recent brake work as the calipers are nice and clean with new flexible hoses. I did not see the receipt for that work, therefore I do not know when it was done. I did find a receipt from 1990 where the transmission had been rebuilt and the
clutch replaced. All gauges are in working order except for the clock which is not running. The clock uses a special battery which last only about a year, it may only need a new battery. The AC was recently serviced and is blowing cold. This is a well sorted out car.

The following items are included:
oJack in bag
o repair receipts
o wire wheel knock off hammer and tool
o original owner’s manual and plastic pouch
o spare tire
o CD-ROM with electronic version of the shop and parts manuals

This is not a trailer queen and it is not priced as a show car. It is a nicely kept original car that you can proudly take to any Jaguar event, or just as a weekend toy. If you have been considering a nice XKE coupe, this is a great "no stories" car for the money.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
