Ebay item 7/12/04
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $2,281.06, no reserve, 6 bids, 5 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This project I never could get to. 1969 E Type coupe, NOT 2+2... Has factory air unit in good shape, engine and trans out, block was damaged, got all the parts except block. This car is good for parts or restoration, has a great bonnet, frames, and suspension. Trans and rear end are good. Car has been in storage for 10 years, has typical rust in the floors and rocker pannels. No significant accident damage found anywhere. I have too many other cars to work on, so this one has to go. The bonnet alone is worth my reserve. And its got a good clean title.

Car to be at auction 8/14

Auction description:
August 30, 2014 auction
Lot 242 - 1969 Jaguar E-Type Series II Fixedhead Coupé
Registration N/A
Chassis Number 1R25644
Engine Number 7R3444-9
Odometer reading 94,708 miles
Estimate £11,500 - £14,500

This lefthand drive 1969 Jaguar E-type Series II Fixedhead Coupé was supplied new through British Leyland, New York to a Mr Harry Williams of Ashland, Kentucky. The vendor purchased the car in 2004 as a restoration project, missing the engine block, with another E-Type and a couple of other cars. The previous owner in the US had purchased the car in 1978 and was the last owner there. This restoration project is mostly complete with the only main component missing being the engine block. The car comes with the gearbox and bell housing, cylinder head, Stromberg carburettors, starter motor, engine sump, alternator, air conditioning pump and other assorted items. The bodywork appears to be mostly sound but with work required to the sills, all the doors open and close as they should. Finished in the original primrose yellow with black interior, this Series II Coupé is supplied with the Heritage Trust certificate and the original State of Tennessee certificate of title. With restored Coupé's now getting in excess of £70,000 this is more than just a viable project but one that has much potential.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
