Ebay item 1/28/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $5,000.00 (Reserve not met), 1 bid, 9 days left in auction. 98k miles.

Sellers description:
We believe that we are the third owners of this car. Due to its overall condition, especially in areas of of wear such as the clutch and brake pedals, we further believe the odometer reading shows the true and correct original miles.

We have always parked it inside as did the previous owner. Judging from the lack of sun damage to the interior, it would appear that it has always been parked in a garage.

We have done nothing to the engine, transmission or rest of the drive train and see no evidence that anyone else has either. All run extremely well, and we have not observed any leaking or burning of oil. The clock, which is original, does not operate.

During restoration, we did not see rust or anything else which would indicate that it has seen service where the roads are salted. This would tend to support our belief that it is a "California Car".

RESTORATION:
All exterior chrome parts were removed, re-chromed and reassembled back on the car. While the chrome was off, minor body work was professionally performed, and the car was re-painted to an original 1969 Jaguar Signal Red. The red interior and Signal Red exterior is an original Jaguar combination.

In addition there are four new Jaguar spoke wheels with new Firestone 640-15 tires on them. All exterior rubber parts except window rubber have been replaced. The clutch master cylinder has been rebuilt. A recent ignition "tune up" was performed replacing the cap, rotor, points and ignition wires. A complete kit of replacement hoses is also included.

SUMMARY:
Although not a car to be trailered from show to show, this may well be the most beautiful XKE road coupe that you have ever seen and is available for viewing by appointment in Los Angeles County, California.

Car to be at auction 6/16
auctionsamerica.com/events/feature-lots.cfm
Complete VIN on the car is J691R25583.

Auction description:
Estimate: $ 85,000 - $ 95,000
4.2-liter engine
Tremec five-speed manual transmission
Three SU carburetors
Authentic restoration with thoughtful upgrades
Three owner vehicle
RetroAir air conditioning
Dayton wire wheels

The Series II Jaguar presented here was built on December 24, 1968. It was produced with Silver Grey paint over a red interior. The history on this car after being built is believed to have started in Long Beach, California where it was likely purchased new at Jamestown Jaguar by a lady from La Hebra, California. From there it was sold to the second owner who was the President of Toyota Racing Development. From here it received an authentic restoration. During the restoration some components were upgraded to make the car more "user friendly." Since its beginning, this car has been under the ownership of three thoughtful and committed care takers.

The Jaguar is reported to have its original body panels, original glass; and the believed original drivetrain. Fueling the stout 4.2-liter are three 2-inch SU carburetors. Backing the engine is a five-speed Tremec manual transmission with a 2.71 final drive ratio. Some of the upgrades that have taken place are as follows: CoolCat radiator with cooling fans, lightweight flywheel, high torque starter, high performance headers, electronic edition and RetroAir air conditioning.

The Jaguar is riding on Dayton wire wheels that are wrapped with Veridestines Sport Classic Tires. A matching spare is comes with the car; along with the original jack and bag.
